w, because we don't have diaries or archives of their equivalent of the 'net to research.

But my mother said her mother hated FDR.
I know a lot of people who called themselves "Democrats" here in Texas in the 60s and early 70s who could not wait to flock to Reagan, because they hated FDR -- and they hated, more, that LBJ tried to make things better for the "hands" (the migrant workers).

    •  Yes. (0+ / 0-)

For a diary I wrote here long ago about FDR, I did some research and found MANY a wickedly critical Op Ed on FDR in the papers of the time. In fact, they sounded just like the right wing of today.

    •  Was your mother a business owner? (0+ / 0-)

And did she solely blame FDR for the demise of her business?

      Without rhyme or reason?

Too many unscrupulous people who conduct business and ride the easy money and leverage their lifestyles... they now want to blame Obama for their lack of business acumen. Or they blame Obama for their lack of stamina. Or their lack of conviction and faith in their business.

Yes, there was much hatred to go around for FDR, but the gutless business owners didn't foolishly fall on their own petards and cut their nose off to spite their face just to prove their hatred of FDR.

Not an entire swath like we have now. It's more than Obama. These folks who claim "business" acumen actually have little or none.
