  •  I've often thought that when dealing with a bad (13+ / 0-)

    product and endless automated menus, on-holds, etc. from the company that made it. If they had to pay us for the time we spend, they'd make better products and would back them up better also.
    Recently replaced our defunct espresso maker (not the fancy type) with similar, low key one of same brand -- because we loved our first one so much. Ran into problems with the new version but was amazed -- the company had real people (automated menu, but hold times of less than a minute) who actually listened to the problem, made suggestions and were extremely nice. They finally sent a replacement. So even though it took multiple calls and some time to resolve it, I'm high on that company!

      I've had excellent service from this  espresso machine maker.

        Really happy with their responsiveness. There's an authorized repair person about 20 mins away (she works out of her basement). She told me since Philips took over Saeco, they've improved their customer care. Our first espresso was made by Saeco and was a gift to us purchased from Starbucks. It lasted about 7 years, which I understand is pretty good, before the pump went out. We never had any other problems with it.
        This one had problems with the fit of the portafilter. It's a boring story so I won't go into it, but it's been resolved now.
