  •  When people talk about the brutality of (8+ / 0-)

    Old Testament, they're juxtaposing it to modern (particularly Reform) Rabbinic Judiasm just as much as they are justaposing it to the new testament.

    Denying that raw and horrific brutality is a major part of that book is just silly, though.

    It condones slavery and rape and encourages ethnic cleansing and genocide.  It's insanely misogynistic.

      Unless you'd like to blame that on the raw and horrific brutality on the Old Testament roots of European society.
