    sure if off duty military was like off duty police ---- as in never really totally off if need arises.

      Even though I had a top secret clearance during my stint in the Navy, that didn't mean I had access to anything marked Top Secret. I only got to see messages that were relevant to my job, and, at one point, had to go personally to the com station to pick them up and sign for them, because none of my troops had the appropriate clearance to pick up that sort of mail.
