    Let alone 2016!

If women automatically voted for women then Sarah Palin would be a far more potent...and dangerous...force.

And there would be more than 20 women in the Senate.

I really doubt any candidate is going to get much more than 55% of the women's vote...maybe 60% at the outside.

And honestly, I'd be quite happy with that.  It would mean victory most of the time.

I have a much higher regard for Secretary Clinton now than I did 4 years ago, but I wouldn't take for granted that at 69 she will be up for another run.  Or the strongest candidate.

Julian Castro has made a good first impression but I don't think we know all that much about him just yet.  And again, I don't know that nominating somebody based specifically on gender or ethnicity is the way to be successful.

You're basically making the GOP argument AGAINST Obama, actually...that people voted for him based on race alone.

If our representatives do their part for the next 4 years...and we do ours by holding their feet to the fire and by turning out for the midterms...2016 will in due time take care of itself.

We've had at least four Democrats mentioned as possibilities to challenge Governor Kasich in Ohio. Two of them will be needing to reassure women immediately that they are pro-choice. This issue killed us under the table in 2010, but it's going to be front and center now. With our legislature launching assault after assault on women's rights, no Democratic woman will go near a candidate this time who isn't unequivocally pro-choice. That cost us big in 2010, although I don't think some recognized it because it wasn't the issue it is today.

We also need to look at strong candidates to challenge Secretary of Voter Suppression Jon Husted, a man who spends our tax dollars dragging his desire to disqualify people's votes into court after court, even when there's absolutely no point. The man is just being a dick.

      Jon Husted is a dick.

        With teabag Tom Corbett.

Is the Ohio legislature as badly gerrymandered as in PA?  I know your US House districts are.

They start with the legislature. The state Senate has been 2/3rds Republican for over a decade, even though in a couple of recent years, more voters statewide voted for a Democrat than a Republican.

          Jon Husted is a dick.

    •  At 69 she should not run for president. Just, no. (1+ / 0-)

Look at how the work of secretary of state has worn her down! And 2016 is four years away! Please, people, let her retire with grace and give her some peace.

And anyway, she has said she will not run. Why not do her the honor of believing her?

Is it true? Is it kind? Is it necessary? . . . and respect the dignity of every human being.
