Last bad weather driving I did was returning from Iowa this past October. Most of the trip was on I-74, and most of the trouble on that stretch was wind. The day was gray and damp, but I didn't hit heavy rain until I got past Cincinnati. Then, on OH 32, in rural stretches with few opportunities to pull off, and getting dark, I hit a couple of patches of extremely heavy rain. Groping my way down a 60 mph 4-lane at about 20 mph, hoping for a place to pull off or an end to the squall. The second time it started pouring down in buckets, I was in a hilly part of Adams County. I knew there was a rest stop on the far side of the hill I was on, and kept going for it. Almost didn't see the turn, but I was going slowly enough to make it. And as soon as I pulled into a parking space, the rain stopped. I got out of my car and it was barely drizzling. The las 30 miles of the trip was a piece of cake. Fine by me - the first 500 miles was more than enough.
