that may not sit well with you?

But there they are. Agreeing with the same things you, yourself, believe by and large. Can you find some way to turn this into a good feeling? People are discussing this now because it's headline news right now. Personally, I was a huge, huge champion of the Arab Spring uprising for all of its promise. But that was some years ago. Mubarak was never "cool," but after thirty years of inaction, some people may not have discussed it as much. Equally, I have concerns about Morsi acting outside of the will of the people whose spirit of protest changed not only their own country but also the world -- those youth, many close in age to myself -- now frustrated that the Arab Spring's vibrant spirit of revolt has been usurped by status quo Islamists toward non-democratic, autocratic ends; those reports are amazing to read and sad to the spirit of all of this opposition that held promise.

    •  Thank you for the word salad. (0+ / 0-)

You didn't put as much time as usual into this Freidmanish blend, but at least you made a token effort.

I can do that if you think it's "word salad." I'm sure anyone else, were they still in this diary, would likewise be glad to serve as a translator for this incredibly difficult reading passage.
