  •  When your supervisor gives you an order... (5+ / 0-)

...ask, "Is this my top priority? Over balancing the four registers, cleaning up the slip hazard and waiting on the forty customers at c/s?" He can't say, "that's disrespectful" because you're not making a statement, you're only asking for his direction and your order of battle. If he's incautious enough to say so, you respond, "No, I'm not being disrespectful, I'm asking you for direction, what should I do first and what should I do next?" Let him write you up for asking for direction. It's his f***ing job.

my temper flared there. I am becoming a problem employee instead of an employee with a problem. Normally, I would be much more, uh.. diplomatic in my response. I think the frustration of low pay, the realization that organizing at my store is a dead end, and being abused by the scheduling. (2:30 am this morning, try to unwind and get a few hours sleep, back at it at 2 pm for another eight hours, and don't tell me that they can't give people permanent stable hours they can) just took their tol last night.

Just frustrated. Truth be told, I kind of like my job, I am not going to do it forever, but honestly, I do like it more than I thought I would. I really like the workers I work with. They are without a doubt, the hardest working and in my store, the most pleasant, helpful people I have ever seen. Our NCR Tech(fixes the registers) said once, your store bends over backwards to help customers, it makes me mad.

Anyway, you are correct, normally I wouldn't be that way, and I would have found or ask for help from my supervisor. Some of the cashiers/maintenance guys think my nametag should be Ms. Bossypants.  Of course, i am always saying it as in , "Maintenance guy, I really need your help, I have 20 people in line, and I really need to get carts in the bay, I can't go push them in, but if you can help me with that, oh gosh I would be so grateful"
