    it doesn't.
    I'm all for single payer, and healthcare as a citizen's right, but until we get there, Obamacare (1.0) is a half-step in the right direction.
    I'm lucky in that I have employer sponsered health insurance, but I had to change professions to get it.
    I used to pay astronomical rates for so called 'catastrophic' health insurance, meaning I never reached the deductables, and always paid out of pocket for every doctor appt. and all medicine. One doctor would make a yearly deal with me, and I would pay a lump sum cash payment at the beginning of the year and not have to pay him per visit.
    looking back, catastrophic was silly, as I would lose everything anyway, if I couldn't work, but not from a medical bill. sheesshhh
