from personal experience, is that there are limitations on what you can do to improve employee work conditions and compensation, especially with a small company. I found that the only way to push the envelope for my employees was to to run the business on exceptionally low margins and take little--even less than my employees--in personal compensation. I was willing to do that, but I admit it eventually contributed to burning-out and losing interest in the business... I sold it to someone who no doubt pulled everything back in line with "standard industry practices", which, in many cases, were no only stingy and destructive but illegal.

There are really only two options, as I see it:

    1) Employee-owned businesses.
    2) Far greater government intervention in employment practices, including compensation at every level of the company, and international trade policy, to eliminate advantages for countries that compete on human and environmental exploitation.

The Class, Terror and Climate Wars are indivisible and the short-term outcome will affect the planet for centuries.
