fly. We are no longer party to a number of treaties involving the peaceful use of space. that trend started under Reagan and has accelerated. We can keep a drone in space for better than 15 months and no one knows what it carries in its cargo bay. So we park it in an geosynchronous orbit over any country we wish to intimidate.

You need to see this as the 21st century version of the aircraft carrier group. Just park it in international territory near the country you wish to intimidate.

all countries control their airspace, but there is no law to define where the sovereignty of their airspace ends.  this could be a real problem, considering china has given a demonstration of its ability to shoot down satellites.

to the Kennedy administration. But Reagan's Star Wars and Bush's dismissal of the anti ballistic missile treaty means we do not recognize any limits of our ability to make war from space.
We also have the ability to shoot down satillittes and have done so, but not publicly.
