  •  And the very one-dimensional position (5+ / 0-)

‘The West has to impose of a no-fly zone (which would require major militarily intervention) in Syria because children are being killed.’

Now has the Israeli bombing of Gaza added to it in an opportunistic attempt to manipulate emotions

‘If you opposed the Israeli bombing of Gaza, which killed many children, you have to support the Western imposition of a no-fly zone in Syria, because it would save children.’

Followed by a very clumsy but not very well thought out ‘gotcha’ attempt

‘If you are opposed to the Western imposition of a no-fly zone in Syria and the arming of the Syrian rebels you are equally responsible for the deaths of Syrian children (trying to imply that you, as a normal human being who is against the Israeli bombing of Gaza, could never have this position, but if you do you are unfeeling and inhuman).’

For those of you who push this position and play these word games in order to manipulate emotions I have a question.

Do you as someone who advocates the Western imposition of a no-fly zone in Syria and the arming of Syrian rebels because it would, in your opinion, save the lives of innocent children, also advocate the Western imposition of a no-fly zone over and the arming of the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip because this, too, would save the lives of innocent children?

    ‘No’, you say?
‘It’s more complicated than that’, you say?
‘There are many other factors to be considered’, you say?

Lamb chop, we can quibble what to call it, but I think we can both agree it's creepy.
