    He was a U.S. Army Ranger in WWII and in Korea, and he often had reunions with his buddies. They were well attended events and I was invited to go along from time to time. (My father-in-law lived with me during the last part of his life). I met many nice guys, but there was one who the other guys acted funny toward. Finally my father-in-law told me that he was too gung ho in combat, that he presented a danger to his buddies. He became a Dallas police officer upon his retirement and was soon in trouble for excessive force, finally shooting a man without justification.
