    Latinos are no more single-issue voters than anyone else is. Sure, they would welcome a more inclusive, respectful policy on immigration. BUT they'd also welcome a higher minimum wage, more investment in K-college education, more affordable healthcare, and on and on.

    My theory is that the underdog tends to want to help other underdogs. Right now, people of color and women are underdogs in the U.S. We'll vote to give each other a leg up on the Amurcan Dream (misspelling intentional).

    The civil rights, gay rights and women's movements, designed to allow others to reach for power previously grasped only by white men, have made a real difference, and the outlines of 21st century America have emerged. -- Paul West of LA Times
