  •  gosh (8+ / 0-)

Sounds like one of those scientific miracles of modern medicine. Hoping for the best for you! And lots more birdy bibble babble.

    •  yep, no better time to get yer fixin done (8+ / 0-)

20 years ago I would have not survived, so thanks to science I am happily living on borrowed time, Yay!

And it also illustrates another level to it: I have two 1 in 1 million fatal genetic flaws, trouble maybe for me if and when and how these genetic flaws manifest or not, but fatal for the children that is if both parents have these flaws..(genetics: ask Jim :>)

but I almost married someone who likely had parts of the other half of this fatal combo and the children would likely have suffered and died young...so now... thanks to science and your taxes and stable governments etc, we can now have a functional awareness of how to avoid some of these genetic tragedies.
( So, maybe off to Street Prophets with this one:...was there some divine intervention so we didn't get married and have kids, she did with another fella I came to be friends with, the kids are brilliant and doing Great Things..so luck or Divine Intervention, or subconscious knowledge..or all that and more?)

And thanks for the best wishes, back at ya!

either luck or divine intervention or both. But cause for thanksgiving for sure.

And thanks for mentioning the Dawn Chorus posting -- of which I was not aware -- because the picture there reminded me of the bittern I once saw creeping over the edge of my pond, only to stand, looking for frogs no doubt, in amazingly hidden fashion completely still with beak straight up. The whole event seemed the arrival of some alien creature. Never to be forgotten along with the glunk-glunk of its call in the marsh down the road, unheard the past few summers sadly.

A different sort of treasured memory from the Grand Canyon to be sure.
