      He's shrewd, and has placated the Tea Party with his rhetoric before. He adjusts as necessary.

        Mostly he does a good job of keeping the teahadists happy, and most of the Republicans who have succumbed to tea party challengers were relatively moderate Republicans (e.g. Lugar, Castle, Crist). Still, it's not impossible that he'll do something that gets the teahadists' panties in a twist. Stranger things have happened.
