no rainfall for salmon or dams.

It's a dry winter in CA right now.

Can change quickly.  Push the jetstream south.

Republicans - they measure our national success by corporate profit margin, not the well being of the citizens.

until at least january, and really not until we're out of snow season and we have some sense of the snowpack. at best, we have had a somewhat dry fall with some carryover from the existing drought. the coming "atmospheric river" is unlikely to help much with the snowpack given the high projected snow line of 7,000', but it should help to refill the reservoirs and rivers (and if it stays very long, could actually lead to flooding once it saturates the ground).

in wet years and dry, they've stolen water from the salmon and sold it to westlands and socal. this lack of water isn't caused by lack of rain so much as excessive pumping.

hope it's spread out enough not to make a muddy mess, especially in mj grow operations where environment is not respected, water is stolen, dirt pushed into the creeks.

      •  Doesn't look dry to me (0+ / 0-)

About average in Sacramento so far.  But last year was terrible.  And I think it is last year's rain that is the trouble with the water in Shasta.

I think we need to release the water for the salmon and figure out ways to cut water consumption.
