  •  How many Walmart shoppers view their savings (0+ / 0-)

as coming out of the mouths of the kids of the Walmart employees?

    •  Folks who shop Walmart (0+ / 0-)

Don't give a damn about anyone but themselves. That is really what is wrong with our country. Selfish!

      •  Do you have any evidence for that? (5+ / 0-)

My impression is that people shop at Walmart because they think it has low prices.  Low prices are important when you are poor.  There are a lot of poor people at Walmart.  I don't think it does any good to call them selfish, or to otherwise make fun of them (see PeopleofWalmart).

        •  don't forget the convenience factor (0+ / 0-)

What poor person has the money to pay for gas consumed to go comparison shopping when Walmart is "always low prices, guaranteed"?

It doesn't really matter if they are the lowest price in the area, the jingle and cheerleading reinforce the message.

      •  Yet WalMart shoppers are also screwing themselves (0+ / 0-)

Walmart keeps prices low by underpaying their employees. Those employees have to collect welfare and food stamps and Medicaid assistance in order to get by. And funding for those programs comes from the pockets of those Walmart shoppers through state and federal taxes.
