  •  Conservative economics is sort like (4+ / 0-)

a perpetual motion machine. It sounds great in theory and at a distance, but in practice it doesn't work, and even in theory it turns out that it cannot work, due to energy loss, entropy and all that other technical-sounding stuff.

It's actually not unlike communism, which while grounded in somewhat more complex theory, is still totally unworkable in the real world, because, it turns out, people like choice and variety and even running their own businesses.

And yet every new generation of conservatives continues to believe in it, and every old generation of conservatives continues to pretend to believe in it, even though it clearly does not and cannot work. And anyone who dares stand atwart lunacy yelling "Stop!" is labelled a communist and thrown off the island.

And we wonder why they keep nominating people like Akin and West.

I read  some of the most scholarly articles I could find about supply side economics and came to the conclusion that it was a load of crap.

Pandering to selfishness does not make a country great.
