This paragraph summarized today's conservative mind set:

As I wrote the book [Impostor: How George W. Bush Bankrupted America and Betrayed the Reagan Legacy], however, my utter disdain for Bush grew, as I recalled forgotten screw-ups and researched topics that hadn’t crossed my radar screen. I grew to totally despise the man for his stupidity, cockiness, arrogance, ignorance, and general cluelessness. I also lost any respect for conservatives who continued to glorify Bush as the second coming of Ronald Reagan and as a man they would gladly follow to the gates of hell. This was either gross, willful ignorance or total insanity, I thought.
These guys have no idea what Reagan did. Even if they were inside the White House, they're lost in the PR spin on what was happening.

Economically, they think the tax cuts brought prosperity. That is simply false. Reagan's tax cuts increased the federal deficit and it was close to two years later from when they got the bill through that recovery kicked in, following a normal business cycle pattern.

As Commander in Chief, Reagan was a fxcking disaster. Stupid. Vain. Bloody against civilians for no reason. Ignorant. Lethal to his own people. Worse than a zero for his allies -- particularly for Christians in Lebanon.

-- Gave arms to Saddam Hussein for no other reason than to kill Iranians.

-- Got involved in Lebanon trying to be a damn Crusader. Killed 5,000 Arab civilians. Got 392 Americans and allies killed from the four truck bomb attacks. Then he retreated with his tail between his legs, lying to everybody.

"Reagan's Legacy" is a legacy of PR fiction.
