  •  yup kids are different (0+ / 0-)

Still, mature themes hard scary for most seven year olds.
very different than your example to me which came FROM the  kid.
I know eight year old who's a vegitarian when he learned about factory farming and thought about killing animals. Seems similar.
Sensitive kids are often more deeply upset by these things. The vegitarian eight year old I know, now ten, would be traumatized by sitting through a whole movie aimed at adults (and older teens) so it doesn't hold back on things. The woman in the video was shaken not only because she figured out she'd be lied to, seems to me. The truth is scary no need to make childhood unsafe.

One thing to talk about it to their level, another to have them sit through hour or two when you can't turn it off or stop it in the moment or talk to them (in the theater), at the very least SEE their face or ask them how they are doing.

because it can really harm some kids and under a certain age (as little as seven) the mature themes can be as detrimental as the sex we are so careful to protect them from in the US, or violence (which some say we don't protect kids from enough).
