  •  Just a reminder the second half of the Norquist (5+ / 0-)

Pledge Suicide Pact is that if you close loop holes you have to lower(Not Raise) rates so that they are revenue neutral...

    http://en.wikipedia.org/...

In the version for the U.S. House of Representatives, the signer pledges to:[5]

ONE, oppose any and all efforts to increase the marginal income tax rates for individuals and/or businesses; and

TWO, oppose any net reduction or elimination of deductions and credits, unless matched dollar for dollar by further reducing tax rates.

So Boehner's offer is a scam out of the starting gate

The 1st Amendment gives you the right to say stupid things, the 1st Amendment doesn't guarantee a paycheck to say stupid things.

Boehner made his "concilatory" offer to put revenue on the table.  It is all a SCAM and a SHAM.  It is the exact same offer he made during the debt ceiling debacle last time.  Only at that time he claimed he was NOT putting revenue on the table.

Why is the media allowing this ruse to go on?  Even Gergen in his hack article misleads the public by stating that Boehner has had a "breakthrough" and is willing for the wealthy to pay more.  PUH-LEASE.  There is nothing new in what Boehner is offering.

Everyone needs to remember that Boehner has signed the Tax Pledge.  Until he renounces that pledge, I don't care what he says publicly (misinformation/disinformation/propaganda), the GOP is not going to vote for revenue.  Boehner will never even bring such a bill to the floor.

Why has not a single "journalist" asked Boehner if he is willing to violate his pledge?

This is not even Kabuki theater.  It is just a con game.

      •  Sunday show (0+ / 0-)

Chris Wallace ask Boehner if he had put a plan on the table SINCE the election..... and all Boehner did was talk all around it. Also was ask what was in his plan...blah blahblahblah  He is worried about loosing his speaker position in the new year... will love seeing that!!!
