  •  The problem I have had with motion sensors (7+ / 0-)

    is that they can disturb your sleep if they are located near your bedroom window.  Other people or animals will cause the light to turn on in the middle of the night.

    I once had my son 'take out' a street light outside my bedroom window that had some kind of feature that turned it on and off all night.  Several of my neighbors thanked me for this.  We all preferred the dark to the light going off and on.

    Room darkening shades do not eliminate the problem.  You need extremely expensive/heavy draperies on top of room darkening shades to keep the light from penetrating.  Hotels are pretty good at this, but these window treatments are far too expensive for me.

    Some people have no problem with changes in light during sleep, but some of us are highly sensitive to light changes.

    I fall down, I get up, I keep dancing.
