    The number one issue is overpopulation, it drives the energy needs (and everything else). Not a cheerful thought. I'm pretty sure that we can't get emission increases for another 40 years, because by that point an enormous number of people are going to be starving.

    Though perhaps the efforts to fight the heat with more air conditioners and drought with desalinization will keep energy use high.

      We are the most wasteful users of energy in the world. On a per capita basis, we use more energy than most of the rest of the planet combined, right here in the US of A.

      Population is its own problem for other reasons, but it is NOT the biggest contributor to global warming.
