2k medical debt left over from 2008 after I was hit by a cab crossing the street. My insurance company denied the claim and I've been getting collection calls ever since. I would hope if applied right that it would be able to cover far more then 15-20 cancer patients as that there are a lot of people like me who are poor and have a small but crippling amount of debt.

The buyers don't know whose debt they are buying, nor how much is allocated to each individual (nor even how many individuals).

Only after the debt is bought is the amount for each person and their contact info provided.

It will be interesting to see, if StrikeDebt will release it, the amount of debt for each person they have forgiven (not the name or contact info, of course, just how much each debt was).
