  •  Perhaps you could change "Death" to "Vacancy" (9+ / 0-)

SCOTUS vacancy watch sounds a little better ...

Scalia will die on the bench, but I think a Ginsberg & Kennedy retirement is very possible.

And Thomas should be impeached, his wife is a lobbyist for causes/corporations that have cases heard by SCOTUS ...

A mind like a book, has to be open to function properly.

And this, too, would be better removed or altered "I want them to bloat, then croak."    We DO wish to tilt the balance of the court.  But we DON'T want to get "imprecatory prayer" even if we're atheists, IMO.

    •  The title is so catchy! (1+ / 0-)

The title was for effect, not politeness. They're the most important 9 people in the world. They can handle a little morbid humor.

    •  there is already a sign of Vacancy on the bench (0+ / 0-)

or make that signs... but for sure in Thomas' case there is moral vacancy if not also a vacancy behind the eyes at the Thomas motel...

Pogo & Murphy's Law, every time. Also "Trust but verify" - St. Ronnie (hah...)

    •  While Thomas should be impeached (0+ / 0-)

he won't be. So we're stuck with him until he dies, retires, or becomes irrelevant on a more liberal court. It is to the latter I turn, because that's the one we can control by keeping the Senate in Democratic hands in 2014 and the Presidency in 2016.

That means running a an improbable campaign in 2014 (we did it in 2012, but that was a presidential year and the republicans gave us a lot of presents). 2016 should be easier so long as the Dems recruit Hilary Clinton or someone of her stature, someone who can keep the 2008/2012 coalition of voters (and their EVs) solidly in the blue column.
