  •  Let me be blunt. (0+ / 0-)

You have trouble voting, counting votes and running a voting system.  You can't seem to make basic economic policy decisions without a crisis which drags down the rest of the world.  Now you can't even ratify a treaty which sets standards for the treatment of the disabled around the world.  And you want to be thought of as the leader of the free world?

Your use of "you" is a rather broad brush for tossing insults around.

Please advise which nation in the world comes close to even approaching the protections afforded here by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)?

We have a way to go --- and today would have turned out differently but for the votes of several of the (38) Republican Senators listed --- and the bullshit games of their "leader."

but there is the irony.  The UN Convention was modeled in part on the Americans with Disabilities Act.  But not supporting this is an abdication of international leadership.
Most western industrialized democracies either meet or exceed these standards.  The purpose of the Convention is to establish a benchmark for developing economies amongst other benchmarks.
