    and for many years was a big talk radio fan.

    In addition to my favorite Canadian personalities, and the CBC was very, very good, I loved listening to the actual "clear channels". Up here in the Toronto area with a tiny transistor radio I could pull in WBZ in Boston where my favorite was Larry Gllick. Here's the classic, hilarious "Orangutan Story".

    Larry King was better on radio than on TV.

    The talk was more entertaining, less crazy, more insightful and respectful of differing opinions.

    Today?

    I just don't care for it much at all. The AM signal is clearly inferior, FM doesn't travel far, satellite is too expensive.

    Internet radio has a superb signal, but I've moved back to Canadian, British, and other foreign broadcasts for quality programming.
