was part of the "yeas" in Bush v. Gore.  Also according to Wikipedia,

she joined the traditional conservative bloc of Rehnquist, Antonin Scalia, Anthony Kennedy, and Thomas 82 times; she joined the liberal bloc of John Paul Stevens, David Souter, Ginsburg, and Stephen Breyer only 28 times.
    So I'm not a fan.

    •  Yeah. When I first learned (0+ / 0-)

The story surrounding Bush v. Gore, my attitude changed for the worse towards her.

Recently though, as I've gone more in depth, I've mellowed a little on her, as it seems she really came to regret that vote later on, from what I understand.

It really shouldn't, though I admit it does, diminish the other positive things she did. Kennedy also voted in favor, but people like him when his swing vote is in our favor and dislike him when it's not.

Justice O'Connor was the swing vote of her era on the Court, and she did help preserve Roe v. Wade, if I'm not mistaken.

Court has transformed many a justice.
