during my childhood & until I left for the USAF in  1966.  Life on that small farm was  sweet.  My father also worked at Newport Steel - as a Roller for many years.  He made good money and paid for Catholic Schools and all the amenities for his children popular in the '60's  (stereos, color TV's, nice furniture, new Chevy Impalas - such fantastic cars, nice clothes and plenty of good food in the freezer downstairs)  If only I had appreciated all that at the time.  I would look out our windows and feel trapped by two hills overlooking our small farm.  I could not wait to get out of there.  I am grateful for the mostly idyllic childhoos (some skeletons are present however).
