  •  I once drove him to the airport (12+ / 0-)

when I worked for a car service in Connecticut, easily the biggest celebrity I ever drove (the only other real celebrity was the late Dan Hartman.). I'll always remember that car ride.

    •  I once drove another, lesser known jazz great (3+ / 0-)

Barry Harris, in college, as a favor for a friend who knew him. I think it was from a gig to his hotel room. The most famous person I've ever driven with.

This was a few years before he died. I met him at a gig he was playing and he asked me for a ride back to his hotel. This guy was one of my idols and I couldn't believe how down and out he was. Truly a virtuoso, but all the years of hard living took their toll.

I feel like I'm taking crazy pills!

He had placed his leash handle under a chair leg in an n outdoor cafe to go inside for a moment, when the dog got loose so I grabbed the leash until he came back outside. I gave him the leash and explained what happened, and he thanked me.

Doesn't exactly compare to these other stories but I bet that everyone here has a celebrity story of one sort or another. Perhaps a diary is called for?
