it's easy to be rude on the internet, much harder to win two national elections.

for protecting  millions of people in a severe economic downturn. Not just children, homeless, unemployed, gays, other religions  (besides the religious right groups who use religion as a tool to enforce thier personal wants and needs)people being foreclosed on, people uninsured or underinsured, soldiers on the front line (at the very least there because of of indifference or revenge seeking issues). The difference is obvious as to why he will not let them play again. Because there are not as many sacrificial human beings who will suffer.

If that makes him weak in some eyes I see that as a reflection of thier character not his.  Now because he is suddenly freer to pursue a firmer line with out so many tossed aside he has developed a backbone... Silliest freaking statement I have ever heard... Just because he suddenly is doing as they thought he should have without regard to how many millions suffered.

Even now there are those who cry that they have to give in to get unemployment extensions or to prevent some group from suffering as the Regressives take action to preserve the only class that matters to them ... thier own... the millionaires, the billionaires, the sociopaths. the thugs, and the self -righteous wolves in sheeps clothing who want to to use thier pretense of religion to control others for thier interests. Yet somehow along the way it was believed that somehow he could overcome all opposition by throwing people under the bus. Hell, if he said right they wanted to go left.  But mostly they wanted to destroy him and I still feel that many on our side aided them (2010) because he is unique in his approach.

I think history will show that he studied politics in depth and how movements work and how you win... Sometimes by feinting, sometimes by yielding ground to lead enemies into traps and sometimes by standing like a granite block. A  smart person chooses when it is best to do which, not when it feels emotionally right. Cool and steady and compassionate. I loved Carter for his sheer level of human decency but this President is unique. I am sure Ghandi was considered weak by the impetuous and impatient as were many of the best men and women from the past... But to maintain a regard for all humans within ones influence is an extraordinary feat. Balance is what he said and I believe to him ii is a defining value.

So shrug off the fair weather supporters who constantly criticize someone handling a job far better then they could.

Brilliant and powerful statement.  Our current president is unique and has some truly powerful tools to do what the US needs in this scary economic collapse.  I think President Obama is more than  capable of greatness in dealing with the economic disaster we face, as well as handling the Know-nothing Teabaggers/Right wing Republicans who seem to have cast an evil spell on our great nation.

The Republican madness needs to come to an end now.  The young and jobless, those in debt, Americans at all levels of the 98% need rescue.  Strong & powerful corrections need to be made.  I read on Kos about the option of making certain coins per the President's powers enumerated in the fourteenth amendment. The coins in Trillions of dollars could be deposited and used for stimulus of the American workers and our families. There are other similar steps that a powerful Rooseveltian president could take to save the working classes and the poor in this country.  Remember the cash handed out during the Bush years ($200.00, then again $250.00) to SS recipients and the working poor in the US?  I think there could be an emergency payment of, say $10,000,.00 to each worker/SS recipient/family - to help Americans get out of the ditch.  Remember, the president aready used that metaphor early on in the economic crisis.  Main Street still needs serious help.  American workers and families need their own stimulus plan.  The people of the 98%  need to be helped.  And it needs to happen in President Obama's second term.

        He is capable of greatness.
