  •  Midterm elections are low turnout. (0+ / 0-)

There are ~30% of voters who only vote in Presidential years.  We need a turnout machine in every contested Senate race and House district.  This is low tech, and should be the easiest component of a campaign to build.  Do it.

Every single candidate in 2014 should be asked weekly "What are you doing to GOTV?"

can be low voter turnout UNLESS YOU PISS PEOPLE OFF!  Then all bets are off, so WATCH OUT!
Reality teaches us that people vote most when they are PO'd.  So if you want to energize people to vote against you, just go against what those people represent.
The entire point to the diary is that the GOP is a dead party as long as they continue to represent the wrong people, the wrong ideas; as long as they represent the direct opposite of the will of the people.    If the GOP allows us to go off the fiscal cliff by not increasing the tax rate on the rich, they will be basically shooting themselves in the foot and bleeding to death.
The Dems appear to understand that they have to stand strong on this issue despite the consequences.  They cannot negotiate on Medicare/Medicaid cuts at this time.
I think the GOP still doesn't understand the realities of polling.  They are still living in Wonderland where they believe they can say a lie long enough and get everyone to go along with it.
