  •  And I'm really sorry to hear about your (5+ / 0-)

uncle, it's very sad, but not uncommon. Fortunately the closet is not so stifling and inescapable anymore, and we're a lot better about helping people with substance abuse issues than we used to be (though granted, still in the stone age in this country).

    •  I loved him so, he gave me my wicked humor (8+ / 0-)

My most bizarre memory was when I lived in Madison, some 200 miles south of my and my Uncle's hometown of Eau Claire. I met a guy who went to school at UWEC, and he told me he never had a car and always rode the bus-just like my Uncle Mort. I told him my Uncle did, and he had a distinctive loud laugh that I could mimic quite well. I did my Uncle's laugh for him, and the guy burst out laughing and said that guy was the Mayor of the Ninth Ward (Uncle Mort). Uncle always wore a red plaid flannel ear flap hat, -think elmer fudd-, and was the kindest man in the city, tied with my Dad. He was bursting with life, and I'll never forget him or stop loving him either. No sorrow here, thanks for your kind words.
