    Sort of a rhetorical question.  The GOP and the right has been concentration on local elections for a long time. The Dems not so much.  The magic GOTV machine from 2012 needs to be pointed at these races in 2014.   It wasn't used in 2010 and that is why we are here today.

      what the present legislation is about. If successful, the Michigan Democratic Party will be as effective as the Indiana Democratic Party in future elections.

      And saying it wasn't used in 2010 is a bit misleading. I was out there knocking doors in SW MI in 2010, and heard from voters directly why they were not going to vote then.

      I wonder what those sporadic voters are thinking now? Probably not even making the connection.
