  •  No, Roland had research he didn't do. (5+ / 0-)

It wasn't a secret that Blake had begun to process out, and what the reason was that he wouldn't be commissioned. Heck, I found out in a few minutes. Likely, any cadet in his company would have known that and Roland could have picked up a phone or read the HuffPo article.

Grandstanding the first black cadet serves no purpose. It was, as they say in cadet parlance, "a bogus question."

The first women had it tough at WP, too, and they stuck it out through inappropriate conduct toward them that ran the gamut. Good on them, too. But that's not Blake Page's struggle, either.

    •  He wasn't there in a journalistic capacity (0+ / 0-)

he was there as a pundit.

'Nuf said. Pundits are paid mouths disconnected from actual brainwork.

That said, Roland served as a very good "counterpoint" to raise a ridiculous strawman that could be knocked over with a feather.  it worked.  That Roland appeared dogmatic and uninformed only served to make it a stronger segment.

I just hope this wasn't Fox-like theater for liberals.  It might just be.  And if so, I might lose interest in Soledad O'Brian. I don't need the liberal equivalent of Fox News.

While there are certainly numerous problems with the developmental program at West Point and all service academies, the tipping point of my decision to resign was the realization that countless officers here and throughout the military are guilty of blatantly violating the oaths they swore to defend the Constitution
So he's claiming he's resigned due to the religious issue.

We were not ahead of our time, we led the way to our time.
