    The Blackbird, the Javelin, the P-51, the Corsair, the F-100...

    I've always had a soft spot for the 727 because it was always entertaining to have a window seat on the wing and just watch the way it would just keep expanding out from leading and trailing edges on approach and landing. I think Boeing's designers, when handed a wing that didn't have any engines hanging off it, just had fun working all the flaps they could fit on it. The plane was a bit of a gamble too - 3 engines? They built a lot of them though.
