    I could have a reasonable discussion with a small percentage of my coworkers, but many fell into the Young Republican club on steroids.  When they were willing to have a reasonable discussion, most of them would agree with 90% of what I said. They were going to keep right on voting (R), but they were open minded. Mind you, this was more than a decade ago, before the GOP went off of the deep end.

    The rest of my crew were diehard righties. Typically, I would choose to not engage. This was more out of keeping friends than out of fear of political backlash affecting my career. If asked a direct question, I would respond. A typical Q&A would be... Q1: You seem pretty liberal, are you voting for Clinton? A1: Yes. Q2: Pro-choice, huh? A2: I'm not a litmus-test voter. I'm generally liberal socially... quickly changes subject.

    The worst type were the screamers. Contradicting them on anything political would literally have them red-faced and screaming. My usual reaction to that type would be mouth the word "okay" and to slowly back away from the loon.
