  •  Why didn't this election make right wingers mad? (0+ / 0-)

That is what I would really like to know.

Shouldn't they have gotten really mad at the "news" sources, Fox Nooze being the biggest, of course, that totally misled them - basically constructing a fantasy world regarding the election (as they do about so much else)?

Don't people usually get mad at the source, when they are repeatedly lied to?

I don't think the answer is that 49% actually believe Acorn stole the election - if these people truly believed that, they would be marching in the streets. When you want to know what people truly believe, look at their actions, not their words.

Maybe it's just that years of Foxification have made them really good at cognitive dissonance, so they still enjoy hearing propaganda that makes them feel good.

On a related issue: this election reminded me of the Presidential election of 1864. At that time - the defeat of Abraham Lincoln would have lead to the dissolution of The Union. The American people, in a time of great hardship and stress, showed their innate wisdom and re-elected him. While the stakes in the 2012 election weren't quite as high - in my mind they were still very high, and the American People came through again.  May it always be thus.
