    There are some restaurants on the east side where there is ONLY metered parking.  I don't go to them.

    It's difficult to be happy knowing so many suffer. We must unite.

      There are some restaurants on the east side where there is ONLY metered parking.  I don't go to them.

      There would probably be just as many or more people that wouldn't go to those restaurants because they end up driving around looking for parking if the rates were kept too low.   Parking rates should be high enough in business areas so that people don't just park their cars and leave them there all day.  Ideally, you'd want there to always be a space or two open reasonably close to most places so that people can park and get what they need without driving around the area for 20 minutes.
