    (or makes impossible) going out and using public facilities. It's all fine and well to get smug and soapboxy about how people need to choose better transportation options, but because of the policies of the people at the top, those options are MOST NOT AVAILABLE. And I think it's so cute the way some people here are getting all "Everyone in D.C. is against us and no pressure will work" about Social Security and Medicare, while thinking somehow people will rise up and find the power to revolutionize public transportation and make it effective and well-funded. Inconveniencing the "little people" does not change policy.

      Don't blame 'the people at the top' for this situation. This horrible car nightmare exists because most people at most economic strata want it that way.
