  •  "Entitlements"???? (15+ / 0-)

What they're talking about are Not entitlements for us who do the labor that enriches the investors that don't nor especially the execs who hire others to do they're work, especially as wages and benefits stagnated and fell while their benefits become more and more writeoffs  for the corporate execs and the vulture capitalist, we Pay directly into as well as through our work for those Not entitlements we receive!!!

Real entitlements are what we give those we hire to represent us and don't, especially on a certain political side of the isles of the peoples houses, fed and state and what they in turn give to their real represented!! They want to Cut and Change start with those till they decide to Actually start working for Us, they and their staffs, fed and state as well as local!!

    •  I agree but I would add another trap that (11+ / 0-)

democrats fall into: namely the trap of being overly technical when engaged in popular discourse.  Here on Kos the argument has been made that, in legal terms, that MC and SS are strong entitlements while AFDC is a weak entitlement so the term is correct.

While the term may apply to SS in a legal sense it does not apply in common usage.  Democrats can shoot themselves in the foot over technicalities. Hyper-technical quibbles have doomed us in the past

how much rent to pay when you use arguably the world's premier business incubator to make million$$ or billion$$.

Risk takers a.k.a. people with real skin in the game: those of us one day/week/month away from eviction, repossession, the pawn shop, another go-round at the payday lender, inability to afford a doctor, inability to send the kids to college.
