  •  I'd be open to supporting Hillary and here's why: (4+ / 0-)

despite what some people are saying in this thread, we actually have a relatively weak field this time around.

Let's be honest, is there really any groundswell of support for a Martin O'Malley or Andrew Cuomo candidacy? With a mediocre candidate on the ticket, the pendulum may naturally swing back to the GOP.

Clinton, on the other hand, is uniquely situated as a candidate. What many perceive as her weakness (that she's a retread) is actually a strength. People have already formed their opinions about her, and she's viewed extremely positively - 57% in a recent PPP poll said they'd vote for her.

The bottom line is that if Hillary Clinton ran, we'd be looking at a strong chance of 16 consecutive years of Democratic rule. That's enough for me to be open to the idea, even though I preferred Obama in 2008.

    •  What? We just finished an election (0+ / 0-)

The point of a primary is to look at the field and vote for who will have the groundswell. How can you say that we have a weak field? Oh brother!

Gillibrand, Schweitzer, O'Malley can do it. Obama and both Clintons can campaign for them and we'll win again.

Romney = Nixon without the sweating problem

    •  yes and finally we can dominate in the Supreme (0+ / 0-)

Court. Scalia will not last that long so we could nominate another liberal justice. I too would prefer someone more liberal than HRC and supported Obama from the get go and disliked Hillary back then but she has done well as SoS and I find that she is our safest bet. Perhaps not the best but safest and she would also get reelected.
