    •  check with your local DNR and animal control (10+ / 0-)

as they usually have all sorts of critter traps. Other solution is buying your own traps; last one I bought some years ago was about $40 I think

quiet and made to allow for the least injury to cats. They also make other traps, for raccoons, dogs, etc. They are the traps I use. I find the have a heart traps, which appears to be what was pictured (they have a tilted door) can cause injury and scare the daylights out of anything trapped given they are noisy.

        Their site is here.

Sometimes, drop traps are needed for tricky cats. I don't know who sells those (I think Tomahawk sells them but I don't recomend them) abut the linked site discusses these. There are also plans on the internet for making them yourself. A lot of trappers I know use them because if a cat has been trapped previously, it's hard to trap them in a conventional trap, oftentimes, again.

        •  My two strays are (0+ / 0-)

tame. They're stray not feral. The one was not touchable up until a couple of months ago but he now lets me pet him and I even was able to pick him up a few times. The other has been abandoned and is just a love bug. I have too many in my house and can't take them in and this area is so overrun with stray and unwanted animals it's nearly impossible to home them. :(
