  •  My mother is ignorant as hell and (7+ / 0-)

mally's mother wasn't. That's the difference. It's always the undereducated who are blessed with skin privilege that cause these problems and pass this bullshit down through the generations. My mother is the most colorstruck ignorant person I've ever met and she gets crazier as the years pass.

Where she got it from? Her father and his line of colorstruck, uneducated people. It didn't affect me because I had a different view of dark skinned people growing up in the 80s than my mother did in the 60s and even my gpa in the 30s. You'd think my mother would have been resistant of such a thing because she witnessed the "black is beautiful" era, but no. She bought into the fashion and fetish of it back then but nothing ever absorbed because she was missing some fundamental education about herself/black people in general.

That's my theory, anyway. I don't know why she was extra hateful about it but it had a lot to do with me being that much more against it to spite her and all the people who contribute to this bullshit.
