      It's a reflection of why some kids will have it harder. Other folks including the diarist want to force them into boxes.

            with that "lies and hugs" comment.  He doesn't know shit about you or your family.

            them who are raised in such a way that they do not have the coping skills or framework to deal with these matters and are delusional about being "mixed race" and what is means in america today, I will tell them the truth.

            as their parent you can give them hugs and lies and myths and nice stories about the world that are not true. isn't that what parents are for? and no, I am not kidding or being snarky. I see this dynamic all of the time.
