The fact that some liberals rush to defend NPR, as evidenced by some of the comments in this thread, shows how deeply the reputation of NPR's listeners as "Volvo-driving, latte-sipping" has permeated whatever national consciousness there is about that riven network.

Further, I find it kind of odd that some say "just don't listen." When federal tax dollars support right-wing propaganda, I will speak up rather than just turn the dial. And no, there is absolutely no comparison between NPR and Planned Parenthood - one provides vital services to women the nation over, while the other spouts right-wing propaganda daily alongside fifteen year old reruns of Cartalk.

    NPR sucks.

NPR is liberal propoganda and now liberals are complaining that its conservative propoganda?  What is right wing about Terry Gross? What is right wing about Science Friday?  If it was really conservative they wouldn't even acknowledge the existence of Science.

This whole argument seems to be "NPR news sucks, therefore all NPR programming sucks".  That'd be like saying Rachel Maddow sucks because she is on the same network as Joe Scarbourough.
