  •  Running the poor out of their states. (5+ / 0-)

Republicans governors aren’t going to resist the opportunity to run the poor (especially minorities) out of their states by denying them medical coverage through the tool of turning down federal Medicaid expansion funding (as healthcare cost continue to increase, by design, as a result of mandated private health coverage). This was all engineered within the Bob Dole plan (from which much was borrowed to design Obamacare).
This was all predicted and clearly explained during the healthcare debate. And it fell on deaf ears. Now we’ll have to watch the movie.

Shuffling poor people around has been going on for a really long time.

Reminds me of many schemes for forced, slave labor throughout history.

There is a book 'Managing the Poor' that puts a logical historical perspective on the attitudes & consequences of these policies.

If poor people can't work, they are considered surplus population by the business world.

Something that doesn't make good sense, makes bad sense. That means someone is being deliberately hurtful & selfish. Look for motives behind actions & words.

their views quickly when the money stops and the people leave.  The welfare/aid keeps many businesses afloat as they are dollars fueling the local economies.  Those are dollars that stay put and are spent immediately upon receipt.  Local economies would collapse if that fuel was stopped.

        Everyone! Arms akimbo!
