  •  Another example was the PA House Maj leader (9+ / 0-)

Mike Turza bragging that the State ID laws they passed would help Romney carry Pennsylvania.

Why can't the Dems ever get worked up about this like the GOP did with ACORN?

    •  I think it's just outrage fatigue (2+ / 0-)

After Bush lied and dragged us into Cheney's illegal war, everything else, and I mean everything, seems like small potatoes.

      Small varmints, if you will.

with Democrats and voting rights since the debacle of 2000.

The short version: Democratic politicians talk a good game before and just after elections, but between elections they're too precious and absorbed with much more important things- read: money, districting- to do much to properly (re)expand voting rights.  Or anything else appropriate to the times to improve the rights of poor people and those who've had to deal with or go through the criminal justice system.  Ending capital punishment at the state level, better mental health services, etc.

Republicans see this lack of interest and initiative, indeed reluctance, and exploit it.

    •  Dems do get worked up (3+ / 0-)

but we have no amplifiers like the Republican media does.  Our outrage gets lost on page 10.

for nationwide multimedia propaganda outlets, and we pretty much suck at marching in lockstep for 40 years the way the GOPs have since the 1971 Powell memo -- liberals by nature aren't good at long marches. I rather like that, but it does have its strategic disadvantages.

everyone I knew about it. Gave the link to a ninny girlfriend of my nephew who was making fun "why all the complaints about voter ID in PA?".
