  •  Obama Leading the Bipartisan Charge (18+ / 0-)

His administration's support of what used to be considered unconstitutional activities is reprehensible. He took policies from what many considered an administrative haven for war criminals and has driven some of the more egregious violations of privacy and due process even further away from personal rights and freedom.

Even a purely moral act that has no hope of any immediate and visible political effect can gradually and indirectly, over time, gain in political significance. –Vaclav Havel

Obama is determined not to go down in history as the first minority president who allowed anything untoward to happen on his watch.  Unless that "untoward" thing is an erosion of civil liberties.

If this were a White, Republican president, the volume on the criticism dial would be pegged.

Oregon: Sure...it's cold. But it's a damp cold.

up to the "if this were a White..."

Yes, I'm appalled at Obama on this.  And I agree he's desperate not to have any terrorist acts committed inside the US.  But the terrorists may be winning:  bankrupting us as the Afghans did the Russians, and destroying our freedoms.  Maybe Bush was right:  They do hate us for our freedoms.

But to say he's doing this because he's black is not cool.

Even Democrats can be asses. Look at Rahm Emanuel.

I expected from him - that as a constitutional lawyer he would restore the Constitution - and continues my greatest disappointment in him. So much that I was not planning to work this year's campaign.

However, the alternative was so terrible I couldn't keep to that. But it gets scarier and scarier.

Jesselyn, thanks for keeping us informed and for the work you do.

Republicans want to make government small enough to fit in your vagina..
